René Torres

René Torres is an Argentine tango dancer whose journey in tango spans more than 26 years. Trained in Buenos Aires, he developed his dance through years of learning from renowned maestros, as well as through deep immersion in traditional milongas and stage performances.

For over two decades, René has worked in partnership with Junko Mori, with whom he has traveled to more than 15 countries, teaching and sharing tango. Together, they place a strong emphasis on social dancing, connection, and the essence of the embrace.

Now based in Tokyo, where he directs Caminito Tango Club, René is known for his clear and musical teaching style, as well as his ability to guide dancers toward a deeper connection and a more personal expression within the dance.

René values tango as a universal language: a way to connect, feel, and communicate beyond words and he brings this philosophy warmly into every class he teaches.

During the current season you will find René teaching some of our Mondays’s lessons & Tuesday’s lessons: Open Level Lessons & Pre-Internediate together with Eva Icikson.
