Marta González

Marta González is a passionate Tango dancer who began her journey in Argentine Tango in 2022, following years of exploring diverse movement practices. Her background in salsa, bachata, and flamenco, along with her later experience in contact improvisation and contemporary dance, has made movement her primary path for cultivating presence, connection, and joy.

Since discovering Tango, Marta has been captivated by the profound depth of connection it offers: with the music, the partner, and oneself. She has dedicated herself to the dance by learning from inspiring teachers, starting with Eva Icikson and continuing her development with various maestros across Europe, Japan, and recently, Buenos Aires.

Above all, Marta considers herself a social dancer (milonguera), deeply in love with the shared experience and community of the milonga. Musically, she is especially drawn to the rhythmic drive of D’Arienzo and the elegance and depth of Di Sarli, while appreciating the richness of many other classic orchestras.

As part of the Go Tango team, she is very happy and proud to assist Eva Icikson in her classes. Marta is dedicated to supporting students in their learning journey while continuously deepening her own dance and connection to the heart of Tango.
